About the Jets

The Amherstview Jets are a community driven local junior hockey team that strives to offer its players the best opportunities to prepare for the next steps of their lives as citizens, community leaders and lifelong athletes.

The club finds its roots with the Ernestown Jets, in the 1970’s, a member of the Quinte-St. Lawrence Junior C Hockey League, later known as the Ernestown Dynamiters until 1984.

In 1989, the Eastern Ontario Junior C Hockey League was founded and, with it, Mr. Mason Budarick would reinstate the Ernestown Jets’ banner by founding the current club.  The team would be renamed to the Amherstview Jets in 1999 to reflect the evolution of its local community.

The spirit in which the Jets would be founded in 1989 is best reflected in the Budarick family’s continued involvement with both the Junior team and the Loyalist Township Minor Hockey Association (LTMHA) Jets, and by the Mason Budarick Memorial Fund that should honor the patriarch’s memory by affording opportunities to local hockey players to take part in the LTMHA, who otherwise could not afford it.

Built on a strong relationship with the Loyalist community, the organization aims to uphold a strong legacy that should be characterized by its outstanding athletic performance, its lasting impact on the lives of those that should later lead the community and the inherent positive model that the Club should emulate for the up and coming athletes.
